Bicycles and skateboards on the subways: start on line D

From this Friday, you can travel with bicycles and skateboards on Subte . The first line to implement it will be D and it will be extended to the rest of the routes.

In this way, users who make long journeys will be able to use this "intermodality", since they will be able to upload 4 of these vehicles by training, which will be located two in the first car and two in the last.

As explained by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Transport, this initiative arises from the drop in the number of passengers due to the social, preventive and compulsory isolation , which currently transfers 5% of its normal pre-pandemic passage.

"We add this new alternative to the subway so that essential long-distance workers can incorporate the bike in the first or last leg of their trip," explained Juan José Mendez, secretary of Transportation and Public Works of the City of Buenos Aires.

What will the schedule for its implementation be like?

May 15: begins on Line D.
May 19: Lines A and H are added.
May 22: Lines B and E join.
