Walk of Glory

Costanera
The Paseo de la Gloria is a path of ten sculptures that distinguish Argentine athletes who left a mark on their disciplines. The ride was inaugurated on August 29, 2014 in Puerto Madero.

While linking the Ecological Reserve with Avenida Belgrano, it proposes connecting different generations through national idols and invites you to stop the march at least for a few moments to admire the outstanding figures of Argentina.

The athletes celebrated are, firstly, Emanuel Ginobili (basketball), Guillermo Vilas (tennis), Gabriela Sabatini (tennis), Luciana Aymar (hockey), Roberto de Vicenzo (golf) and Hugo Porta (rugby). Later, the sculptures of Pascual Pérez (boxing), Lionel Messi (soccer), Diego Maradona (soccer) and Juan Manuel Fangio (motorsport) were added.

Each of the athletes has their image materialized in the walk through the values they represent, beyond their sporting achievements.

These sports legends were selected by an Advisory Council such as Juan Pablo Varsky, Daniel Arcucci, Ezequiel Fernández Moores, Julio Marini and Miguel Simón. They collaborated and endorsed the selection of each of the sculptures that make up the Paseo.

All the works were made by the artist Carlos Benavídez. He is a renowned Argentine sculptor for creating the busts of San Martín, Belgrano, Sarmiento, Borges and Cortázar among others. His prestige even crossed the Atlantic to reach Europe.

The path of sculptures was conceived within the framework of the Youth Olympic Games that took place in 2014.
