The City lit up pink to raise awareness about breast cancer

The Ministry of Public Space and Urban Hygiene of the City, joins the campaign to fight against breast cancer and will illuminate monuments and facades of Buenos Aires buildings in pink, until October 21.

“From the City we join and accompany the campaign to fight breast cancer. We illuminate our monuments to make this disease visible and raise awareness of the importance of its early detection , "said the Minister of Public Space and Urban Hygiene of the City Clara Muzzio.

Although World Day to Fight Breast Cancer is commemorated every October 19, at the request of the Estée Lauder Argentina Foundation and the Lalcec Foundation (Liga Argentina de Lucha Contra el Cáncer), it was decided to extend the lighting throughout the week.

The objective is to promote women's access to effective early detection controls, diagnoses and treatments.

The monuments that will be illuminated are: the Planetarium , the Woman's Bridge , the Usina del Arte , the Floralis , the Lezama Palace , the Monument to the Spanish, the Plaza Congreso Monument and the Monumental Tower .
