Thursday 17 - Rerum Novarum by Nicolás Batlle, Fernando Molnar and Sebastián Schindel

The musicians of the band Rerum Novarum are former workers of the Algodonera Flandria, residents in the town of Jáuregui, in the interior of the Province of Buenos Aires. The band, created at the initiative of Don Julio Steverlynck, inspired by the papal encyclical "Rerum Novarum" of Pope Leo XIII, manages to show us, through the stories of its members, the exceptional conditions that occurred in Jáuregui - Villa Flandria to achieve a unique social cohesion and a high economic-cultural standard of living. Today, despite the closure of the factory, they continue to touch and perpetuate in this way the tradition of an entire people.

Thursday 24 - Charco, Songs from the Rio de la Plata by Julián Chalde

Mobilized by the certainty that some musical genres, such as the milonga, are universal, the musician and researcher Pablo Dacal begins a journey upstream towards the sources of popular music in the Río de la Plata. From the song of the XXI century to the anonymous music of the persecuted payador, passing through each of its tributaries: rock and psychedelia, cumbia, candombe and murga, tango and folklore. From the noise of the city and its ports to the unanimous silence of the countryside. Conjugating his own generation with the almost patriarchal influences of Atahualpa Yupanqui and Osiris Rodríguez Castillo.
