It was founded in 1912 but closed its doors in 2017. Since then and until November 2022, the more than two thousand square meters of the building were enhanced and its historical heritage was recovered, thanks to a team of specialists in bronze, wood, stucco, leaf gilding and stained glass.
Its architecture is a symbol of the Belle Époque. You will be surprised by the century-old dome, made up of 60 stained glass panels and a molding made with cartapesta.
The chandeliers and sconces are original, and in the restoration they were lowered and polished. The elevators were also dismantled and renovated, the Candy Store on the first floor and the stained glass windows were renovated.
Everything you consume or buy at La Ideal is made in-house: it has its own bakery, kitchen, pastry shop and chocolate shop. The building even has a laundry room.
It is a very special place in the City, to sit down to eat or have a delicious breakfast or snack. You can also buy at the bakery, candy store and sandwich shop. A true trip to old Buenos Aires.
