A bit of history

In 1845, in the city of Milan, Italy, Bernardino Branca created, together with Dr. Fernet, a unique combination of herbs and spices, in the beginning the drink had healing properties and was taken as a digestive, they never imagined that they were creating an iconic drink worldwide. But this is how Fernet Branca emerged, whose name honors its creator and collaborator and was followed by growth that positioned the brand throughout the world.

The brand, as we already have, is of Italian origin, but since the last century it was also adopted by Argentines as a national emblem, thanks to the great process of social, political and cultural modernization of Argentina, when the massive immigration from the region took place. history of the country.

In the 80's with an epicenter in Córdoba, the Branca y Cola version became popular, which remains to this day, this preparation becoming a drink of excellence in bars in Argentina, it also became the only drink Argentine to be part of the official cocktail list of the International Association of Bartenders.

Fernet Branca is currently distributed in 160 countries, but it is only produced in Milan and Buenos Aires. A super interesting fact is that in Italy about 12 million bottles are produced per year which are exported worldwide and in Argentina about 55 million bottles are produced and only for local consumption.

Now from miBsAs a question comes to mind, Why Coca and not another drink?

Could it be that both the Fernet formula and the Coca formula are a mystery? There is a theory that both drinks share some of the herbs with which they are produced, originally Coca was also born as a digestive drink like Fernet so its base can be very similar. It will be that this common base that they share when mixed create an amalgam of unique and irreplaceable flavors and it is so popular that we all like it.
