The Guitarrita

Núñez

La Guitarrita, a traditional pizzeria in Buenos Aires, was founded in 1963 by two former soccer players from the Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo de Almagro clubs: Mario Boyé and René Pontoni. For 40 years he received important figures from the sports and artistic fields of our country in his local neighborhood of Belgrano. In the hands of René Pontoni (grandson of the renowned player) and his wife Ximena Díaz Varela, La Guitarrita reopened in 2006 in the neighborhood of Nuñez. The house offers a wide variety of stone pizzas - made at the time in a wood-fired oven - hand-made empanadas; Fainá and homemade desserts.

Some of the house's specialties are the Farineta: pizza filled with onions, sliced tomatoes, ham and mozzarella and Venetian: onion, ham, sliced tomato and hard-boiled egg. Without forgetting the Muzzarella and the Neapolitan - this one with plenty of garlic and basil leaves. The setting is very characteristic: all the walls are adorned with paintings, flags, photos and antiques related to the sport of our country, mainly soccer. You can find images and newspaper clippings that tell a great part of the history of Argentine sport and its protagonists. At the Guitarrita you can enjoy the best pizza on the stone, in a family atmosphere and surrounded by one of our greatest passions: football.
