Multi-theater

The Multiteatro is a set of theatrical halls located at Avenida Corrientes 1283, in the city of Buenos Aires, where the old Smart Cinema-Theater and Blanca Podestá were built.

It has four modern rooms, totaling 1,237 seats (131, 320, 369, 417), with the latest architectural advances in the field ...

The history of this space goes back to 1914, when the Italian businessman Domingo Perrupato erected the Smart Palace Cinema-Theater. The room was left in charge of businessman Alberto Ballerini and his wife Blanca Podestá in 1924, when the construction of a new building for the theater began, on the opposite side of Corrientes (narrow street, the widening of 1936). The old building of the Smart Palace would be remodeled to become the Comic Theater (nowadays called Teatro Lola Membrives).

The new Smart Palace, managed by Podestá, was a successful theater. There they met Carlos Gardel and Federico García Lorca, presented by César Tiempo in November 1933; and artists such as Florencio Parravicini, Gloria Guzman, Mecha Ortiz, Alberto Closas, Analía Gadé, Margarita Xirgú, Miguel de Molina and María Antinea passed through its stage.
