In the heart of the San Telmo neighborhood, in front of the famous Lezama Park, the National Historical Museum is a space dedicated to Argentine history that exhibits objects related to the pre-Hispanic history of Latin America, the May Revolution and the Argentine War of Independence, among other memorable events.

Its current building, built at the end of the 19th century, synthesizes the Italianate style with the Creole of Spanish origins. In addition to its emblematic gardens, which can be accessed without reservation, the museum has the Archive area, where handwritten and printed textual documents and photographic, iconographic and cartographic visual documents are preserved, and with its famous Library, which brings together more than 10,000 volumes of the most diverse texts specialized in Argentine history.
