Puente de la Mujer

Puerto Madero
The Puente de la Mujer is a cable-stayed bridge with a counterweight pylon designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It is the only one of his works in Latin America and it is located in Dock 3 of Puerto Madero, in Pierina Dealessi and Manuela Gorriti.

It is a work thought by the businessman Alberto González, who was a member of the Madero Group and donated the money for its construction.

González commissioned it to the Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava Valls.

It was manufactured by the Urssa company in the city of Vitoria, in the Basque Country, because the steel with which it was built is not manufactured in Argentina.

The bridge measures 170 meters and is the synthesis of the image of a couple dancing tango.
