Hispanic American art museum

The heritage of the Isaac Fernández Blanco Museum of Hispano-American Art is made up of the best exponents of Spanish-American viceregal art (16th to 18th centuries). In addition to a vast collection of Argentine and European applied arts from the 19th and 20th centuries. Its classic headquarters, located in the Palacio Noel , presents through its collections of art from the colonial period; a story about the South American cultural spheres during the centuries of the conquest, colonization and evangelization of the continent. Meanwhile, the Fernández Blanco House , currently in the process of restoration and opening of new rooms, inaugurated in 2013 its first permanent exhibition dedicated to the collection of old dolls and toys (1870-1940) and in 2019 four rooms where They exhibit recently restored pieces of the artistic heritage: clothing and fashion accessories, fans, porcelain, earthenware, glassware and silverware from the 19th and early 20th centuries that reflect the daily life and evolution of the styles of the period. The sectors put in value for this purpose correspond to the old female living room of the house -the fan room-, the main dining room and a room on the first floor. The patrimonial partition in these two spaces allows the best study and dissemination of the viceregal and republican collections, the optimization of the exhibition space and warehouses and the multiplication of cultural activities linked to the two periods of interest : the three hundred years of dominance of the Spanish crown in America and the forging moment of the modern Argentine Nation between 1850 and the beginning of the 20th century.
