💃 International Dance Competition
The Tango World Championship welcomes couples from over 50 countries, competing in two categories: Salon Tango and Stage Tango. Qualifying rounds will take place from August 23 to 30 at the Usina del Arte, and the finals will be held on September 1 and 2 at the Teatro Gran Rex, with free admission and advance booking.
🎶 Opening Night with Legendary Artists
The festival officially opens on Wednesday, August 20 at 8 p.m. at Usina del Arte, with a special production featuring Sexteto Mayor, Raúl Lavié, Sandra Mihanovich, Miguel Ángel Zotto, and José “Pepe” Colángelo, in a tribute to Aníbal Troilo.
🌆 A City Taken Over by Tango
For two weeks, Buenos Aires is filled with:
- Concerts and shows in theaters, plazas, and iconic bars
- Milongas with free admission (La Viruta, Club Gricel, La Porteña, among others)
- Open classes, talks, screenings, and product fairs
- Acoustic cycles in the Golden Hall of Teatro Colón
- El Bondi Tanguero, a mobile stage touring the neighborhoods
Featured artists include Adriana Varela, Jairo, Amelita Baltar, Rodolfo Mederos, Susana Rinaldi, Lito Vitale, Juan Carlos Baglietto, Franco Luciani, Noelia Sinkunas, Milena Plebs, Ariel Ardit, Vanina Bilous, and many more.
