Recoleta: Little Paris

Recoleta
La Recoleta is called "La Paris Argentina" as a result of the great French immigration since 1840 and its consequent architecture. Just walk along Avenida Alvear to see the French-style residences and palaces. Due to its glamorous businesses, palaces and hotels, it became the aristocratic street of the city par excellence.

In just seven blocks you can find some of the most valuable mansions in Buenos Aires that transport the belle époque: the Maguire Residence (Av. Alvear 1681), the Duhau Palace (Av. Alvear 1661), the Apostolic Nunciature (Av. Alvear 1637) and the French Embassy (Cerrito 1399) among other monuments.
