Are you coming to Buenos Aires with your pet?

  • Anyone wishing to travel with their pet to the City of Buenos Aires from abroad must vaccinate it against rabies (dogs and cats) between 30 days and 12 months before entering Argentina.

  • Within 10 days prior to the trip, a veterinarian accredited by the public animal health authority in their country of residence must complete the Argentine Veterinary Certificate and include a copy of the rabies vaccination certificate.

  • These certificates must be presented at the Argentine Consulate for legalization only if the animal is to be imported for commercial purposes (personal pets do not require consular approval).

  • Other pets (birds, invertebrates, tropical fish, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals such as rodents and rabbits) do not require a rabies certificate but must meet other requirements and be accompanied by a health certificate.
