It is the first of its kind in the world. It invites you to fully immersive experiences to activate your imagination and challenge reality through the senses.

This is an experience unlike any other: imagine “seeing” theater in a completely dark room. Even if you think it is impossible and contradictory, you will realize that with this proposal your senses are sharpened and your whole body is mobilized.
It is that darkness suspends the sense of sight and that leads you to a new perception of reality. In addition, it is an alternative that materializes true inclusion since, on the one hand, it enables people with visual disabilities to enjoy the show and, on the other, it employs people with blindness or low vision.
Each of the seven plays offered by the Blind Theater company is a world and an adventure, including a gourmet show, a children's show and a music cycle.

A proposal with history

In 1991, Ricardo Sued, inspired by the dark meditation techniques practiced in Tibetan Zen temples, had the idea of performing a play without light. Ten years later, Gerardo Bentatti, a former member of that cast, summoned José Menchaca to direct a new play in the dark and they put together a work group made up mostly of blind actors who already had a special ability to handle themselves in those conditions. A year later, they premiered “La isla desierta”, by Roberto Arlt.
Then Gerardo Bentatti and Martín Bondone decided to face the project of putting into operation the Argentine Center of Blind Theater. Finally, on July 4, 2008, this place opened its doors, the first Blind Theater in the world, a space where all the shows are presented in complete darkness, seeking the cooperative and equal development of its members.

"Eat" fiction

“Gourmet blinds” is a proposal that combines a dinner, specially designed to be enjoyed in total darkness, with a theatrical sensory show and live music. You will find a seven-step menu, with a vegetarian, vegan and suitable for coeliacs option,
When eating in the dark, the flavors explode on the palate and the aromas of the dish will have an incredible intensity. And everything will unite with the work.

The enlightened childhood

There is also an invitation for the smaller public. “My friend the darkness” is the first children's play by Teatro Ciego, a journey on board the imagination. It has the best immersive sound and many sensory surprises.

"Sound 360" is the possibility of enjoying your favorite artists in total darkness and in a room with speakers on the ceiling and a surround distribution, which generate a high definition sound dome, in a 5.1.4 system. In addition to feeling the music in 360 degrees, the sound has elevation, which causes depth and more realism. Each song that you are going to hear was specially mixed and mastered for the multichannel format, with the highest existing audio resolution.
