The Old Mailbox

A few blocks from the field of Ferro Carril Oeste is located El Viejo Buzón, baptized by its owners as a piece of "plank" in Caballito, where football fans, players and ex-players occupy the tables of this cafe as if it were a Club extension. Is that one of its owners, Felipe "Toto" Evangelista, was president of Ferro in the '90s.
But not everything is football in this remarkable bar, declared as such in 2014 due to its cultural contribution. There is also a radio (Radio Conectividad) and shows are organized that alternate from tango to rock. The café-bar offers a varied nocturnal artistic proposal.

In addition, El Viejo Buzón was chosen by film and television directors to make films such as "Ciudad en Celo" or the novel "Los sonicos" for its authentic neighborhood character.
The place owes its name to the old red mailbox at the entrance. It was born as a bakery a hundred years ago and over time it became a meeting place for the neighbors of Caballito, poets and bohemians.

In 1993, the Buenosairean Legislature declared it "Historical Corner of the City of Buenos Aires" and from then on the place took relevance not only for the neighborhood.
