With its imposing Beaux-Arts-style facade and details like marble columns and bronze handrails on its staircases, the Old National Library is a journey to the past. Every corner of the building tells stories of a time when books were safeguarded as true treasures. Even its structure had to be reinforced to support the weight of the millions of volumes it once housed.

Today, this space opens its doors to the public with free guided tours that allow visitors to explore its secrets and wonders. During the tour, you can see Borges's office, preserved exactly as it was, and discover unique details about its history. The tours are held on Tuesdays at 3:00 PM and Thursdays at 11:00 AM, but prior registration via email is required.
The email to sign up for the guided tours is centro.jlborges@bn.gob.ar. You can also contact them here: www.bn.gob.ar and IG @biblioteca_nacional_argentina.

If you're a lover of literature, architecture, or simply want to discover a different corner of Buenos Aires, the Old National Library is a must-visit. Because, as Borges would say, "I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library."
