Tranvía Histórico

Caballito
In Buenos Aires the tram was used as a means of urban transport for 100 years and until 1963, when it abruptly disappeared. Seventeen years later, the Friends of the Tram Association decided to value this cultural treasure and inaugurated the Historic Tramway service of Buenos Aires with a circuit through the emblematic Caballito neighborhood so that everyone can live this experience from the beginning of the last century.

Although the tram does not make the route of yesteryear, the ride recreates the old passenger journeys in original wagons: The bodywork, the training posters and the interiors are perfectly preserved and to get on it is necessary to give the ticket to a chauffeur dressed in epoch.

The fleet of trams is run by the Asociación Amigos del Tranvía y Biblioteca Popular Federico Lacroze, whose members work ad honorem so that everyone who visits the neighborhood can enjoy a magical moment. Touring Buenos Aires in these old trams can be an extremely enriching experience and is an activity for the whole family, ideal for those who come to visit and also for the porteños who, immersed in faster rhythms, choose original programs to enjoy their time of leisure.
