Homage to Mercedes Sosa at the CCK

Folklore. Tango. Song. Rock. Huella Argentina offers an overview with the great figures of all rhythms that have been presented at the Kirchner Cultural Center since 2015. From pioneers to new talents, the footprint of Argentine music is spread in a remarkable present.

On July 9, 2015, the brand new Blue Whale was the scene of I bring a people in my voice, a concert in which consecrated female singers –Ramona Galarza, Julia Zenko, Liliana Herrero, Lidia Borda, Luciana Jury, Fabiana Cantilo, Hilda Lizarazu, Lorena Astudillo and Nadia Larcher– performed in symphonic format songs from the repertoire of the unforgettable Mercedes Sosa , on the day she would have been eighty years old.

Directed and arranged by Gustavo "Popi" Spatocco, the tribute included the participation of the "Juan de Dios Filiberto" National Music Orchestra of Argentina, the National Polyphonic Choir, Lilián Saba on piano and Micaela Chauque on vocals, box and aerophones.

The night, full of magic and emotion, included magnificent versions of "I come to offer my heart", by Fito Páez; “Pedro canoero”, by Teresa Parodi; "Reason to live", by Víctor Heredia; "The brothers", by Atahualpa Yupanqui; "Gringa chaqueña" and "Juana Azurduy", by Félix Luna and Ariel Ramírez; "When I start to be alone" by Charly García; "Everything changes", by Julio Numhauser, and other classics of Argentine and Latin American popular song.
