How to get to Buenos Aires

By plane

Ministro Pistarini International Airport - Ezeiza: It is the most important airport in the country where international flights and some domestic flights arrive. It is located in the town of Ezeiza, 32 kilometers from the City and about 50 minutes from downtown Buenos Aires.

Jorge Newbery Airport: It is located within the City and at an approximate distance of 25 minutes from the main hotels. Passengers coming from an Argentine province or a neighboring country will land at this airport, since it mainly operates domestic flights and some regional flights.

El Palomar Airport: Located 18 kilometers west of the City of Buenos Aires in the town of "El Palomar", it is the third metropolitan airport in Buenos Aires. In addition, it is the first and only 'low cost' in Latin America, equipped to operate only with low-cost airlines, and the only airport in all of Argentina connected with a rail service a few meters from the terminal.

How to get from the airports to the city?

At both airports, the visitor can choose different ways of getting around:

  • Shuttles and private transfers: it is possible to book them in advance or upon arrival. The Tienda León company offers services from both airports to the Puerto Madero terminal, in the city center.

  • Taxis: there are different taxi ranks available inside the airports.

  • Remises: they are cars with a private driver. Several remission companies offer their services to visitors from the airport.

  • Public transport: bus lines reach all airports that connect them with downtown Buenos Aires and, in the case of El Palomar, a train line also connects it with the City. They are not specially prepared for the transport of luggage and during rush hour they are very crowded. To travel by public transport you need the SUBE card, which can be purchased at the authorized kiosks at each airport. We also recommend downloading the " BA Como Llego " application to find the best way to get to your destination in the city.

Boat

From Uruguay you can cross to Buenos Aires by boat and in a short time. If the place of origin is more distant, the cruise is the best option.

By ferry

The terminals of the ferry companies are located in the tourist district of Puerto Madero and La Boca. The companies you can choose from are:

  1. Buquebus

  2. Seacat

  3. Colonia Express

On cruise

Numerous cruise lines operate from the port of Buenos Aires, which makes the place one of the most important spare parts in the region. Passengers arriving by cruise do so at the “Quinquela Martín” passenger terminal in the Retiro neighborhood, considered the best of its kind in all of South America. The terminal is a short distance from the city center and the main tourist attractions. Taxis, remises and tourist bus are available from the terminal.

By bus

The quintessential option to arrive from a neighboring country or from other Argentine provinces. Long distance services include very comfortable seating and catering. The bus terminal is located in the Retiro neighborhood and has easy access to the city's public transport network.
