Local, national and international calls
- All telephone numbers in Buenos Aires have eight digits.
- To make local calls it is not necessary to dial any type of prefix, unless it is a cell phone or mobile phone, where the prefix 15 is prepended and then the 8 digits are dialed.
- To call the interior of the country you have to prepend the 0 and then the area code and the local number.
- For international calls, 00 is prepended before the international phone number.
- To call the City of Buenos Aires from abroad, you must prepend the local number: prefix +54 11 if it is a landline or prefix +54 9 11 if it is a cell or mobile phone.
Telephone or prepaid cards
- To rent a cell phone or mobile phone in the City, you can opt for a prepaid phone card service, which can be purchased at phone booths and kiosks.
Internet and phone booths
- In all neighborhoods of Buenos Aires there are call centers, which are businesses that offer telephone calls and Internet access.
- Calls are charged by destination and duration, while Internet service is charged by fractions of 15 minutes at most locations.
