The Museum of the City invites you to learn about the history of Buenos Aires and its inhabitants.

To walk through the rooms of the City Museum is to travel through time through different eras to learn about the customs and traditions of the porteños of yesteryear.

The Museum of the City works on the first floor of an old house, in its environments are preserved testimonies of the history of Buenos Aires, also temporary exhibitions are organized that expose the customs and traditions of the life of the porteños.

The rooms display antiques, everyday objects from the past, photographs and other elements that have as a function to recreate and show everyday life in the past.

There is also a room dedicated to filleting, the traditional painting of the city.

The museum's function is to preserve the historical heritage of the city, which is why it organizes activities such as history courses and artistic workshops.

In addition, the City Museum organizes the famous San Telmo Antiques Fair that runs every Sunday at Plaza Dorrego.
