Historical Museum Sarmiento

Belgrano
The Sarmiento Historical Museum, located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Belgrano, is a museum dedicated to Argentine history, particularly the Generation of '80. Most of the museum is dedicated to exhibitions about Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, a San Juan writer and politician who presided over the country between 1868 and 1874, especially his literary work; other sections deal with Nicolás Avellaneda, his successor in the presidency, and about the revolt produced by the federalization of Buenos Aires in 1880, when the national government had to leave the city and settle in the building that the museum currently occupies, at that time the municipality of Belgrano.
