This pedestrian passage pays homage to Carlos Gardel; one of the most popular artists in Argentine history, icon of tango porteño.

The street is covered with colorful murals on tango themes. There are also stores that offer regional items.

The monument to Gardel, a standing figure, is located on the sidewalk of the Restaurant "Esquina Carlos Gardel", formerly known as "Chanta Cuatro" and in front of the Shoping Abasto.
The place is still in the process of urban remodeling. It has only one modern apartment building. Old houses were demolished that make us assume new uses or their transformation into green spaces as the neighbors long for.
Several murals make reference to the Morocho del Abasto, as well as little signs of neighbors requesting, among tango lyrics, to take care of the place. Old hotels guard the space.

A few blocks from the place, by Jean Jaurés, there has been the opening of the Museum House of Carlos Gardel, its existence is marked by the Association of Friends, who also guards the passage.
This place was also chosen for the site of the monument "Al Bandoneón", product, like the monument to Gardel, of a private donation.
The subway station that is on Corrientes, also bears his name for several years. The place is of tourist importance and everything predicts that it will increase with the passage of time.

#TIPMIBSAS For lovers of tango, the Carlos Gardel House Museum (Jean Jaurès 735) will be a delight. It is the house where the artist lived until his death. You can see personal objects and examples of his work.
