Puerto de Frutos

Tigre
The Fruit Port is one of the biggest attractions in Tigre. It is not only that it summons tourists, but also those who want to buy decorative objects in one of the largest open-air shopping centers in the Province of Buenos Aires. Its name refers to its previous use, since until the middle of the 20th century it was the place where the fruit production of the Paraná Delta landed, which was later marketed in the city of Buenos Aires.

As the shops are open every day, this place attracts thousands of people even during the week, which is when it is recommended to go, since on weekends there are many people who choose it as a program. The traditional values of Tigre and new concepts in modernity and design coexist there. It is the favorite place for carpenters and furniture manufacturers because it offers good quality at good prices. The smell of pine wood can be perceived from the entrance. It is a walk through different aromas and textures that make it very difficult to finish the tour without buying. In addition to traditional, rustic and design furniture, there are numerous decorative objects, more oriented to a Nordic style and with a lot of wood. But it is also a very important design pole full of innovative proposals. One of the products that are sold the most are the wicker baskets and dried flowers.

The port is also where many artisans go in search of the raw material to make their crafts, since many houses have wood cuts, moldings and flowers, among many other objects.

In addition to furniture, decorative and utility objects for the house, you can also find accessories such as belts, purses or hats. Regional products are not only made of wood, you can also find rich cheeses, salami, jars of preserves with pickles or pickles, honey and homemade sweets.
