Theaters without season? Actors and producers request its opening

After the announcements and the definitions of the government of the province of Buenos Aires regarding that theaters will not be allowed to open for the next season in Mar del Plata and the Buenos Aires territory due to the advance of the coronavirus pandemic, the theater producer Carlos Rottemberg assured that " based on the protocols, the theaters are not infectious sources" for which, together with industry leaders, they are thinking "with ingenuity" to search until the last minute for the best way to return to work.

In the City of Buenos Aires on Thursday, it is a key day for theatrical and musical activity . In the afternoon, Aadet , the entity that brings together the commercial halls, and Artei , which groups the independent theaters of Buenos Aires, will have a meeting with the Minister of Culture Enrique Avogadro and with the Minister of Health of Buenos Aires Fernán Quirós.

On the fact that there is no theater season on the coast, José María Muscari , referred to the issue:

“I feel anguish, outrage and shock. They have to review the posture. The health emergency is the most important thing but if the malls open, I cannot think of the theater as an infectious focus. On the contrary, in Mar del Plata there are theaters with a lot of capacity and with protocol, greater distance could be generated in the public than there is today in bars, restaurants and shopping. Faced with the protocol that AADET developed with the Guest Function, plus seven months of stop, decreeing that in summer there will be no theater seems to me a responsible decision. It is a mistake, it is killing the industry, although we do not know if the public will go, but the bars or restaurants do not return to the previous billing ”.

Flavio Mendoza was outraged by the situation:

"I'm sorry to all my fellow artists, but I have been working to return from day zero, showing the situation and helping people who do not have enough to eat, I put together a protocol and put my chest. Put your batteries in a little empathy with those who do not has ... no one is heard, "he said through his social networks.
