The “Messi and Maradona Corner” is a huge mural that Maximiliano Bagnasco created, together with his team (Team Bagnasco), to honor Diego Maradona, with the World Cup he won in 1986, and Lionel Messi, with the trophy he lifted in 2022.
Thanks to the talent and personality of the artists, this wall went from being a simple gray wall to a true art exhibition in less than a week.
According to Bagnasco, an acquaintance contacted him to tell him the story that a man passed by the corner of Villa Pueyrredón after the defeat and, in simple words, promised his daughter that "if Argentina won the World Cup, that wall was going to have a mural of Messi and Maradona.”
Therefore, after the successful outcome of the last edition of the World Cup, the father spoke with Maximiliano Bagnasco and together they managed to make the dream project a reality.
Where is the “Messi and Maradona Corner” located?
The residents of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Pueyrredón are fascinated with the “Messi and Maradona Corner” since, according to what was mentioned on social networks, that street intersection has never had as much activity as now.
That is, thanks to the fanaticism of Argentines, since the mural began to take shape, hundreds of people have traveled to the place to contemplate the work of art and congratulate its author.
The “Messi and Maradona Corner” was created at the intersection of Helguera and Curupaytí streets, in front of the Miter train tracks and very close to General Paz Avenue.
