Jauja

Palermo

Lucía B. Adler and José J. Mazzini founded Jauja at the end of the 1960s. Of course, at that time it was not handmade ice cream, nor a restaurant, nor chocolates ... But didactic toys and crafts.

Between the 70's and 80's, Villa Gesell was the place where this creative marriage carried out a brand that was characterized, from the beginning, in the quality of the materials used and a lot of creativity.

In 1980 the Mazzini family moved to El Bolsón, where a new artisan activity would begin (shortly after): gastronomy.

At first it was a sandwich shop and selling "impulsive" ice cream. But soon, "Lucy" and "Pepe" realized that Patagonia, and in particular the valley of El Bolsón and the Andean region of Parallel 42, offered an infinity of delights that were not reflected in the gastronomic offer .

This is how the restaurant "La Cocinita de Jauja" was born with its varied regional dishes and, of course, the artisanal ice cream shop where they were created, little by little, the flavors that made Helados Jauja become a "registered trademark" of Patagonia.

Our work philosophy is closely linked to our way of being. We chose El Bolsón to live in a different place, in a different way. And what we do tries to reflect it through quality, cordial attention, creativity ... and the joy that it generates us to live in a place very similar to paradise ... That's Ice Cream Jauja.
