Luxury bars of the Buenos Aires night

Almost every month a new bar opens that you have to know. Bartenders, like chefs, became celebrities and launch their own products and spirits or create their own bitters. And there is a new audience of bars that is increasingly demanding and open to trying signature drinks or classics that never go out of style - such as the Negroni, the Americano or the Martini.

As the cocktail scene is more hectic than ever and one can get dizzy before starting to take the first sip, we bring you a list of proposals that are among the best in the city. Six luxury bars that are worth visiting:

ATLÁNTICO FLORERÍA

Since it opened its doors in 2013, it has established itself as one of the trendy bars. Created by star bartender Renato (Tato) Giovanonni, it is located under a flower shop - hence the name - in one of the most beautiful areas of the city, full of hotels, cafes and art galleries. From the aesthetics and the Florería menu, it seeks to rescue the immigrant spirit of Buenos Aires, with more French, Italian, Spanish or Polish drinks. Fact: the food is at the level of the drinks (if you go with company we recommend barbecue fishing for two).

WHAT TO ORDER: Mitaz Bloody Mitaz Gazpacho.
ADDRESS: Arroyo 872, Retiro.

VICTORIA BROWN

At first glance it is not seen. And it is that Victoria Brown, a bar in Buenos Aires that flirts with the steampunk aesthetic, remains hidden behind a false brick wall that separates it from the cafe that works on the street. As soon as you cross that wall, the magic begins. A large bar of more than 9 and a half meters, commanded by Ezequiel Rodríguez, is the heart of a space where iron, wood and copper tones are privileged. Wrapped in this atmosphere, there is no other choice than to order a classic drink such as Old Cuban, or Manhattan, or one of the aged and smoked menu. They work from premium drinks and bitters and homemade macerates.

WHAT TO ORDER: Rum Fashioned.
ADDRESS: Costa Rica 4827, Palermo.

HARRISON

An aura of deliberate mystery surrounds this Buenos Aires speakesasky, the most purist of his style. Nothing to reveal addresses - on his Facebook there is hardly a "somewhere in Buenos Aires" - nor to pass passwords by phone. The only two ways to get into Harrison are to meet someone or go to eat at Nicky (Malabia 1764, Palermo), the sushi restaurant in front of the bar, and try to be liked by whoever is guarding the door. Take it or leave. If you manage to enter, the successive passage of gates until arriving at the bar is the beginning of an adventure that ends in a bar in the style of the 1920s, with antique glassware and furniture and the most sought-after drinks and drinks.

WHAT TO ORDER: Bonnie Rose.
ADDRESS: "Somewhere in Buenos Aires ..."

PONY LINE

Hotel bars are sometimes serious and stuffy. Pony Line, located at the Four Seasons -but with a separate entrance-, is the opposite. Chic, relaxed and with a high rotation of the public (Wednesdays are the busiest day), this bar alludes to the polo and horse atmosphere (as a nice detail the menu is in the shape of a whip). If you go with company, you can choose the privacy of the boxes, but if you are alone you can sit at the bar and ask the bartender to prepare you a classic drink or, why not, the trio of cocktails-tererés that are taken with matte bulb. They do not fail.

WHAT TO ORDER: Brazilian Mai Tai.
ADDRESS: Posadas 1086, Barrio Norte.

BASE

Younger brother of the Gran Bar Danzón -another of the great alcoholic havens of the city-, BASA opened in 2013 with an ambitious and tempting cocktail proposal (the dishes are also rich, a recommendation: scotch eggs). The bar is beautiful and comfortable, good for laying down for a long time and seeing how Ludovico De Biaggi, one of the most talented bartenders on the local scene, works. Visually the drinks are so aesthetic that you will want to take a photo of it and share it right away on social networks. A must: the pisco punch a ´l´ argentine with pisco Vargas, Bacardi añejo, hesperidin, pineapple, orange and syrup.

WHAT TO ORDER: Pisco Punch or "Te Quiero Tanto", a light and easy drink with a tank and base.
ADDRESS: Basavilbaso 1328, Retiro.

DOPPELGANGER

It is almost on the outskirts of Buenos Aires (in the San Telmo neighborhood on the edge of Barracas), but its magnificent bar and atmosphere make the excursion worthwhile. Located on a corner, and decorated in the style of the postwar Paris or Berlin bars of the 1920s or '30s, Doppel maintains an orthodox policy: no beers, no wine, no soft drinks, just a long menu with Almost 100 cocktails - the specialty are Martinis - served in fine bohemian glass. A trip to another time.

WHAT DRINK TO ORDER: Cynarazo
ADDRESS: Av. Juan de Garay 500 (Bolivar corner), San Telmo.
